Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible to train at Abuja Laparoscopy Academy?

Our programmes are open to final-year medical students, house officers, medical interns, surgical residents at any level, and practising surgeons or gynaecologists seeking to develop or upgrade their laparoscopic skills.

Not at all. Our Basic Laparoscopy Course is specifically designed for beginners with no previous laparoscopy exposure. We guide you from foundational principles all the way to practical skills on our simulators.

We deliberately keep cohorts small — typically 4 to 8 participants — to ensure every trainee has ample hands-on simulator time and benefits from direct one-on-one mentorship from our faculty.

Upon successful completion of your course, you will receive an official Certificate of Completion from Abuja Laparoscopy Academy, specifying the programme completed, duration, and assessed competencies. This certificate can be included in your professional portfolio and CV.

We run courses throughout the year, typically monthly. Specific course dates are confirmed on a rolling basis. Contact us to be added to our notification list so you’re the first to know when new cohort dates are released.

Yes. We offer bespoke institutional and group training programmes for medical schools, teaching hospitals, and surgical associations. Please contact us directly to discuss your organisation’s needs and receive a customised proposal.
